One of Spanish Fork's long-standing businesses burned to the ground Thursday night, and firefighters were still extinguishing hot spots Friday morning.
Assistant Fire Chief Errol Smith said at about 12:24 a.m., a police officer on patrol noticed flames coming out the back of Orr Electric, 246 N. Main. By the time firefighters arrived, the entire back of the store was engulfed in flames. The blaze spread quickly through the building's ceiling, and the roof collapsed a short time later.Firefighters fought the blaze for more than four hours. Smith said it may be days before investigators know the cause of the blaze or a cost estimate of damages. Orr Electric has been in business several decades and offered gifts, glassware, electric supplies and small appliances.
