Utah

- Baseball - The University of Utah squared off in a doubleheader with Air Force at noon today. Utah (11-18, 1-2 WAC) is coming off of a three-game series with Wyoming in which they lost its first game (17-23) and split a doubleheader (10-7, 3- 7).The Utes and Falcons will play two more doubleheaders at noon on Saturday and Sunday.

BYU

- Men's gymnastics - Injuries cost the BYU men's gymnastics team the opportunity to qualify for the western regional NCAA meet this Saturday at Norman, Okla., but coach Mako Sakamoto will take six top gymnasts for individual competition.

Senior Richie Ellis will be one of the favorites in the all-around. Others competing include Chris Burch in all-around; Eric Blonquist in rings, vault, and parallel bar; Marc Seid on pommel horse and rings; David Patten on floor, rings, vault, parallel bar and high bar; and Ernie Higbee on the pommel horse.

- Women's tennis - BYU hits the road for the last time this season when the Cougars travel to Florida to play 32nd-ranked Miami on Saturday and swing through Texas for a match-up with the Second-ranked Texas Lady Longhorns Monday. The Cougars are (14-9).

Weber State

- Women's tennis - Weber State's women's tennis team plays its first home match this Sunday outdoors at the John Edman Varsity Courts. The courts are located adjacent to Wildcat Gym on the Weber State campus and action gets underway at 12 noon.

The Wildcats are back after a three-match sweep on the road last weekend at Las Cruces, New Mexico and El Paso, Texas and are currently 8-8 on the season in dual matches.
