Ever since arriving in Utah from Chicago four years ago, I've been a great fan of the Jazz. It seems that Larry Miller has worked hard to acquire and keep quality players, and I admire the job he's done with the team . . . to a point.
It seems to me that a team with two perennial all-stars and an adequate supporting cast should be capable of something more than third place finishes and early exits from the playoffs. (Witness the Bulls, both with and without Michael.) And yet, all our coach can do is whine to the media that his team is satisfied with being in third place and unable or unwilling to do better. Well, whose fault does he think that is.If we want to win a championship, our coach must be willing to dump the monotone drone, the incessant whining and blaming the players and embrace an inspirational manner, a controlled intensity and a positive team image.
Jerry must either accept the responsibility of his position to undertake the necessary changes or find himself collecting unemployment.
