Leola Virginia Hakanson Ham, 79, died peacefully Saturday morning May 7, 1994.
Leola was born February 21, 1915 to Wallace and Virginia Hakanson of South Jordan, Utah. Leola was married to Arling "Bud" Ham on April 28, 1934 in Salt Lake City. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. Bud preceded her in death on May 12, 1992.Leola was active in the LDS Church in the Relief Society presidency. She also taught Primary and Sunday School. She was a loving mother and excellent homemaker and later became a Licensed Practical Nurse. She loved flowers and was a charter member of the Garden Club. Her hobbies were reading, sewing and gardening.
She will be remembered for her good sense of humor and devotion to her grandchildren.
Survivors: children, Gene A. Ham (Connie), Mesa, Ariz.; Joy H. (Craig) Rasmussen, Sandy, Utah; Judy C. (Ned) Carnahan, St. George, Utah; Charles (Kathy) Lokey, Tigard, Oregon; 32 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; brothers, LaVell Hakanson, Salt Lake City, Utah; Kenneth Hakanson, West Valley, Utah; and Larry Hakanson, O'Fallon, Ill.
Services will be held at the Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, Midvale, Thursday May 12, 1994 at 11 a.m. Friends may call at the mortuary from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday and again on Thursday one hour prior to services.
Interment, South Jordan City Cemetery.
