SHARE DEATH: BEATRICE VIRGINIA NEWMAN

Beatrice Virginia Newman, 88, our loving mother, grandmother and sister, passed away May 9, 1994 of causes incident to age.

Born June 23, 1905 in Bluffdale, Utah to Joseph Reuben and Ella Gertrude Bills Howard. Married Ross W. Newman in Riverton, Utah on April 26, 1927. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He preceded her in death February 11, 1971.Beatrice was an active member of the LDS Church where she served as a teacher, Visiting Teacher, choir member and served in the MIA. She devoted a great deal of time in compassionate service and was a former member of the DUP, Tithing Yard Hill Camp. In her community, she was a member of the flower club, bridge club and senior citizens. Mom was a wonderful homemaker, excellent cook and had a great talent for making chocolates. She shared many items of handiwork with her family and friends.

We will miss her sweet spirit.

Survivors: children, Edna N. Cowdell (Robert), Howard R. Newman (Shirley), Laury R. Newman (Jean), Thomas W. Newman (Sylvia), all Riverton; George Brent Newman, Ephraim, Utah; daughter-in-law, Joan Newman Hill, Axtell, Utah; 20 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary H. Winter, Mesa, Arizona. Preceded in death by two brothers; one sister; grandson, Mark Cowdell; great grandson, J. J. Waters.

Funeral services Friday, May 13, 1994, at 11 a.m. in the Riverton Utah LDS Stake Center 13400 South 1850 West. Friends may call at Goff Mortuary 8090 So. State, Midvale, Thursday 6-8 p.m. and Friday at the stake center 9:45-10:45 a.m. Interment, Riverton City Cemetery.

The family wishes to express sincere thanks to Nurse Jeannie Morris; aide Carol Anderson and Therapist Christine Edwards; also to Dr. Kenneth H. Nielsen and his nurse, Deannie; Dr. Sharon Lee and her staff.
