June 1 is the deadline for inquiries from bands, dancers, cloggers, quartets, choruses and other groups wanting to provide entertainment during the 1994 Utah State Fair.
The inquiries should be mailed to Ralph Rodgers, Utah State Fair, 155 N. 1000 West, Salt Lake City, UT 84116.Individuals and groups applying for performance times should write for an official request form, which will be mailed. All performers will eventually have to supply a 10-15 minute video (homemade is fine).
The fair is especially interested in ethnic groups. Clowns will be hired on an individual basis, not through any clubs or organizations. Officials say they are particularly interested in performing clowns who play musical instruments, who are jugglers or skilled with balloons, unicycles or other equipment.
Solo instrumentalists and singers who can do "walk-around presentations" throughout the fair, rather than on a stage, are needed. All bands must apply individually. The fair will not use any groups or associations of bands.
