Rob Lowe says he has no one to blame and no one to thank after he bottomed out and brought himself back.
"I saved myself," the 30-year-old actor told TV Guide.Lowe says his career is back on track after a self-destructive period that included heavy drinking and a videotaped sexual romp with two young women, one of them underage, at an Atlanta hotel in 1988.
In 1991, he married makeup artist Sheryl Berkoff; they had a son last year.
"I realized I might have ended up ruining my relationship with Sheryl only to stay at home in a corner with my bottle of tequila," he said. "I saw where the road was leading."
Now Lowe is having what he considers a watershed year. He has roles in the ABC miniseries "Stephen King's The Stand," in the BBC's upcoming "Pride and Prejudice" and a western feature, "Frank and Jesse."
