During the late 1980s, the citizens of Utah County were embarrassed with a series of unfortunate situations involving county commissioners. Morale suffered throughout the county.
Beginning with the election of Malcolm Beck, a healing era began. Beck led the way to reduce the number of commission staffers for an estimated $120,000 annual saving. With an astonishing memory, Beck stays on top of the many difficult matters before the commission. He has been joined by two other solid commissioners.I submit that, overall, the present County Commission is doing a much better job than we have seen for years.
