Beloved and admired son, brother, uncle and friend, Michael Jon "Mike" Westenskow, age 29, returned to his Heavenly Father on May 20, 1994 from fatal injuries resulting from an automobile accident.
Mike was born May 3, 1965 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Donald R. and Barbara A. Westenskow. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held the office of elder.He was a well-respected actor of theater, television and film. He was best known locally for his performances at Hale Center Theater and Desert Star Playhouse. He also performed at Babcock Theater and Stage Right Theater and was involved in various church productions. His first notable role was as "Doolittle" in "My Fair Lady" at Promised Valley Playhouse, where he shared the stage with his dad. At the time of his death he was involved in the directing of a production at Hale Center Theater.
He loved sports, movies and music. He was admired and loved by friends and colleagues. He was a strong, silent son and brother.
His convictions ran deep. He stood up for what and whom he believed in, regardless of the consequences.
He is survived by his parents, Don R. and Barbara A. Westenskow; grandmother, Vera Schultz; brothers, D. Steven Westenskow (wife, Karen), Lee G. Westenskow (wife, Annette), Todd J. Westenskow; sisters, Mrs. David (Judy) Bruse, Mrs. Dariush (Gay) Najmabadi; 17 nieces and nephews and many friends.
A memorial tribute to Mike will be held at the Hale Center Theater.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 23, 1994, 12 noon, at the Brighton 10th Ward Chapel, 2327 E. Bengal Blvd. (7600 South). Friends may call at the Cannon Mortuary, 2460 E. Bengal Blvd. (7600 So.), Sunday, May 22, 1994 from 5-7 p.m. and 10:45-11:45 a.m. prior to service at the church. Interment, Larkin Sunset Garden.
