The Salt Lake County Centennial Commission is making $100,000 in grants available to public non-profit organizations for the development of activities celebrating Utah's centennial.
The county agency, which works in cooperation with the State Centennial Commission, is recruiting grant applicants whose projects will focus on county activities during 1995 and 1996.All projects funded by the commission must be equally matched by a combination of in-kind services and cash from other sources. The deadline for submitting grant applications is June 24.
Funding for the grants comes from the sale of Centennial license plates in Salt Lake County. Applications are available from the Centennial Commission, 468-3624. For more information, contract grants committee chairman Cary Stevens Jones, 461-6617.
