Mike Greenlay stopped 20 of 21 shots as the Atlanta Knights defeated the Fort Wayne Komets 3-1 Wednesday night to capture the International Hockey League's Turner Cup in their second year in the league.

Stan Drulia, Bill McDougall and Martin Tanguay scored goals for Atlanta, which took the championship series 4-2 over the defending champion Komets.Drulia, who had 13 goals and 12 assists in 14 playoff games including sweeps of Milwaukee and San Diego, was named the playoff MVP.

With a league playoff-record crowd of 14,107 looking on, the Knights avenged a four-game sweep against Fort Wayne in the semifinals last year.

After a scoreless first period, Tanguay scored on a rebound at 3:06 of the second, getting assists from Devin Edgerton and Jim Cummins.

The Komets tied it on John Purvis' 10th goal of the playoffs at 9:16 on a wraparound after assists by Colin Chin and Dan Lambert.

McDougall's power-play goal, his 12th of the playoffs, put the Knights ahead to stay at 10:45. He beat goalie Peter Sidorkiewicz at point-blank range and was assisted by Eric Charron and Jeff Madill.

Sixteen seconds into the third period, Drulia scored his 13th goal of the playoffs on a breakaway.
