Doyle Moroni Lewis, 92, died April 30, 1994, in Salt Lake City, Utah, at the home of his granddaughter, Ameladee and her husband, Don Milne.
Doyle was born March 10, 1904 in Marion, Utah; a son of Henry and Mary Jane Blood Lewis. He attended school in Kamas and being an excellent student, attended college in Logan at age 15. Doyle married Lenore Eliza Bailey April 30, 1924 in the Salt Lake Temple.Doyle enjoyed traveling, playing golf, fishing and dancing. He was a dependable secretary to Parley's 4th Ward High Priest group, home teacher and temple worker, and with his wife, served an 18 month mission to Nauvoo, Illinois during 1972-1973. Doyle worked hard as a dedicated Intermountain manager to five states for Booth Fisheries. He retired at age 69.
His family will miss him. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Gaylen (Alaire) Johnson, now serving a mission in Ireland; one son, Keith B. Lewis, Salt Lake City, Utah; 15 grandchildren; 65 great-grandchildren and two sisters, Lila Parrott and Flora West, both of Murray, Utah. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lenore, a son, Myron, three brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 5, 1994, 12 noon, at the Highland Park Ward, 2535 South Douglas St. (approximately 1300 East), Salt Lake City. Friends may call Wednesday from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Berg Chapel, 500 North State Street, Orem or Thursday one hour prior to services at the ward chapel. Interment: Elysian Gardens, Salt Lake City.
