Ivan R. "Ike" Oakeson, 74, our loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, passed away at his home May 1, 1994.
Born December 10, 1919 in South Jordan, Utah to Harvey Andrew and Maria Elizabeth Leak Oakeson. Married Alta Marshall in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on June 3, 1948. He was active in the LDS Church and in town government. Ike was a farmer who loved being on his tractor and working on his farm. He spent many hours taking care of his family and friends and was loved by all who knew him.Survivors: wife, Alta; children, Karen, David, Sheila Oakeson; Laurie (Blair) Hutchings; Cynthia (Steven) Harmon; Ivan (Michelle) Oakeson; nine grandchildren; brothers, Warren, Sherman Oakeson; sisters, Ann Player, May Lanier, Marjorie Mortensen, Leone Allen and Shirley Thomas. Preceded in death by parents; daughter, Mary; brothers, Harvey and Russ.
Funeral services Wednesday May 4, 1994, at 11:00 a.m. in the South Jordan 3rd LDS Ward Chapel 9750 South 2200 West. Friends may call at Goff Mortuary 8090 South State Tuesday 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday at the church from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Interment, South Jordan City Cemetery.
