H. Mervin Wallace, age 85, died Saturday, May 28, 1994 in Salt Lake City.
Born August 8, 1908 in Raymond, Alberta, Canada, son of Noble D. and Mary Eliza Bennion Wallace. Married Virginia Savage April 17, 1931. Attended Salt Lake schools and graduated from the University of Utah.He spent most of his life in real estate and established Alder-Wallace, Inc. in 1937 and Marlyn Construction in 1940. He remained active in real estate and construction for over 50 years. He served as president of the Utah Board of Realtors, president of Salt Lake Board of Realtors, served many years as chairman of the State Board of Examiners and the arbitration committee. He received the prestigious President's Award from the Salt Lake Board of Realtors in 1985, and he was Realtor of the Year in 1973. His integrity and dedication to the real estate profession were well known to his fellow associates.
He was devoted to his wife and family with whom he enjoyed many special times. He was a member of the LDS Church and a high priest in the Monument Park 12th Ward.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia; daughter, Denyse Bachman and her husband Ted, Salt Lake City; son, Robert Mervin and his wife Carolyn, Las Vegas; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. A grandson, Stephen Bachman, preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 1, 1994, 12 noon at Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary, 2350 East 1300 South, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Interment will be in Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
