Frank Knaus, 84, passed away at his home as he was sleeping in the early morning on May 3, 1994. Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, he was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
He was born March 2, 1910 in Scofield, Utah, to Charles and Caterina "Katy" Fassio Knaus. As the oldest in his family, he quit school in the 5th grade to support his widowed mother, four younger brothers and one sister. He worked as an electrician, was a member of the IBEW L.U. 354, and a veteran of World War II.Married Mary Lavinia Magill on December 28, 1941.
Frank was an honest man, a hard worker and a skilled craftsman. A self-educated man with a sense of humor, he enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, traveling, gardening and reading.
He loved his family and the beauty of the natural world.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Mary; daughter, Patricia; son, Frank; daughter-in-law, Julie; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Clelia Mackelprang, and four brothers, Charles, Edward, Peter and Archie.
Funeral services will be Friday, May 6, 1994, at 2 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State Street, where viewing will be Thursday, 7-8 p.m. and Friday, 1-2 p.m.
Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
