Arilie Elvira "Vie" Grant Stott was born November 2, 1894 in Thurber, Utah to James and Susan Sidwell Grant. She lived a fruitful 991/2 years and died May 2, 1994 in Salt Lake City, where she lived with her son, Paul.

Vie attended the University of Utah and BYU. She gained recognition in art and music and was a vocalist in many plays and operettas.She was married to William Stott on Feb. 17, 1915 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

She gave birth to seven sons and three daughters and is survived by Grant and Helen, Paul and Rose, Vera S. Millet, all of Salt Lake City, Ben and June Hayden, Pocatello, Idaho;son-in-law, Alexander Jack Holmes of Cherry Valley, Calif.; 32 grandchildren; 120 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Her husband died August 13, 1950, after which she devoted her life to genealogy, temple work and unselfishly helping any she could find that were hungry, sad or lonely.

She was a joy to many and will be greatly missed by all who love her.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 7, at 11 a.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, where friends may call 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Interment in Heber City, Wasatch Co. Cemetery.
