Courtney Love has been cleared of drug charges brought against her the week her husband, grunge rocker Kurt Cobain, committed suicide.
Prosecutors in Beverly Hills, Calif., said Wednesday that substances found in Love's hotel room were not illegal drugs and that syringes found there were meant for injecting prescription painkillers."I am delighted that this nightmare is over and I have been cleared of all charges," Love said in a statement. "I can now concentrate on putting my life back together and mourning the loss of my husband."
Love, lead singer of the band Hole, was taken to a hospital April 7 after an apparent drug overdose. When she was released, she was arrested and booked for investigation of possessing heroin and drug paraphernalia.
Her husband's body was found the next day.
