Construction will begin during the summer on a 10-theater complex by Utah-based Benchmark Theatres at 1450 W. 9000 South in the Jordan River Center, the company's first venture along the Wasatch Front.

The complex includes 50,000 square feet with 3,000 seats in the theaters and the opening is scheduled in the spring of 1995. The theaters feature Lucas-Films' THX sound and Digital stereo, innovations found in other parts of the country, but just being introduced in the Salt Lake Valley.The project is a joint development between Benchmark Entertainment Group and Spratling Investment Corp.
