LaVeta Ogborn West, age 76, died Tuesday, May 3, 1994 in Mesquite, Nevada.
She was born September 24, 1917 in Blackfoot, Idaho to Charles and Montana Boice Ogborn. She married Ray W. West, February 25, 1939 in Coalville, Utah.Veta lived in Salt Lake City during most of her married years. She worked as a secretary at the Defense Depot in Ogden, at Fort Douglas and retired from Hercules. She was a member of the Lion's Club in Salt Lake City. She has resided in Yuma, Arizona, for the past eight years where she was a member of the Moose Lodge. LaVeta and her husband traveled extensively throughout North America. She had a great love for people, and made many friends throughout her life. She was genuinely nice and loving to everyone she met. We will miss her very much. We love you, Mommy.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Ray; four daughters, Judy West and husband, Cliff Elmore, of Orem, Utah; Penny and husband, Mac Thomson, and Tossy, and husband, Jim Clark, all of Ogden, Utah; Suzanne and husband, Mike Humphries, of West Jordan, Utah; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Irene Hammond, of Blackfoot, Idaho.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 7, 1994, 2 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary Chapel, 3401 South Highland Drive, where friends may call one hour prior to services.
