Jazz hire Mark Kelly as

information director

Former Salt Lake Golden Eagles public relations director Mark Kelly has been named director of information for the Utah Jazz.

Kelly will be responsible for publications, statistical information and promoting off-court activities of the team and organization.

Kelly has worked in the Salt Lake area since 1976. Previous jobs included stints with the Eagles, the Portland Beavers and as play-by-play announcer for the Salt Lake Gulls. He also worked two years at KSL radio and two more at KDYL radio.

A native of Detroit, he and his wife Lynn live in Salt Lake.

In a related move, the Jazz also hired Cyndi Dufrenne, the former ticket manager for the Golden Eagles.

Wilkinson inks deal with Bengals

CINCINNATI - Dan Wilkinson, selected first overall in the NFL draft, signed a six-year deal with the Cincinnati Bengals for $14.4 million.

Wilkinson, who gets a $5 million signing bonus and a chance to void the final two years if he plays a certain percentage of downs this season, will have base salaries of $965,000 this season; $1,206,000 in 1995; $1,447,000 in 1996; $1,688,000 in 1997; $1,930,000 in 1998; and $2,171,000 in 1999.

Webber heads NBA's all-rookie team

NEW YORK - Golden State's Chris Webber, the NBA's rookie of the year, and Orlando's Anfernee Hardaway were unanimous choices for the all-rookie team in the voting by league's coaches. Milwaukee's Vin Baker, Dallas' Jamal Mashburn and Minnesota's Isaiah Rider complete the team.
