The Highland softball team can now look forward to the playoffs after capping a perfect region season on Thursday.

Behind the sparkling pitching of Sherrie Holmes, the Rams whipped Skyline 11-0 to grab the Region 2 title and finish with a 10-0 region record.Highland scored three runs in the first and fifth innings for a 6-0 lead. Chantelle Clegg then put the icing on the cake for the Rams with a grand slam in a five-run sixth inning.

Skyline finished region play in second place with a 7-3 record.

Region 2

Viewmont 5, Bountiful 4

At Bountiful, the Vikings rallied from a three-run deficit to defeat the Braves. Viewmont scored four runs in the sixth inning to steal the victory. Sarah Poloni and Jamie Henderson each had two doubles for Viewmont while Henderson got the win on the mound.

Region 3

Taylorsville 7, Kearns 6

At Taylorsville, Cherianne Jones smacked a two-run single to cap a five-run rally in the fifth inning and lead the Warriors past the Cougars. Julie Jettie shined at the plate for Taylorsville (6-4) with three hits. The Warriors finished third in the region while Kearns (4-6) placed fourth.

Region 4

Hillcrest 4, Mountain View 3

At Hillcrest, the Huskies overcame a 3-0 deficit to rally and defeat the Bruins. Hillcrest scored two runs in the sixth inning and one in the seventh to send the game into extra innings. The Huskies capped their comeback with a run in the bottom of the eighth. Krista Koehler picked up the win.

Region 7

West 3, East 2

At West, the Panthers scored the winning run in the bottom of the fourth inning to put away the Leopards.
