Minnie Leah Clayson Halverson, 92, died Thursday, May 5, 1994 in Salt Lake City.
She was born June 29, 1901 in Lake Shore, a daughter of Nathan and Minnie Amelia Huff Clayson, the fifth of eight children. She married Grant J. Halverson, March 23, 1921 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died December 25, 1993.Minnie attended school in Lake Shore and Spanish Fork and received her Norman Degree from Brigham Young University. She taught at Lake Shore Elementary School. She was active in the LDS Church, having served in the stake and ward presidencies of the MIA and Primary. She was particularly interested in the activities and dance programs of the LDS Church.
She was an accomplished seamstress and was musically gifted in both piano and singing.
She resided in Spanish Fork, Nephi and, in her later years, Brigham City and Salt Lake City.
Survivors include three children: Lois H. Taylor, Salt Lake City; Doris Deane (Fred) Baugh, Brigham City; Jay Grant (Gerry) Halverson, Sacramento, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Renae; a great-grandson, Michael Baugh; and a son-in-law, John Taylor.
Funeral services will be held Monday, at 1 p.m., in the Walker Mortuary Chapel, in Spanish Fork, 187 South Main. Friends may call at the mortuary Monday, from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. Burial will be in the Spanish Fork City Cemetery.
