Bobbitt was arrested when he returned about 3 a.m., he said.Police are required to hold Bobbitt at least 10 hours on what Barela called the "complaint of domestic violence - battery." He hasn't been formally charged.
The woman's name was not released. Barela identified her as Bobbitt's fiancee. She was not taken to the hospital, he said.
