Two men from Mexico are scheduled to face a preliminary hearing on June 28 for a robbery and rape at a South Ogden jewelry store.

Jose Estrada, 28, and Juan Felix, 35, were both charged earlier this week with multiple felony counts including robbery, kidnapping and aggravated sexual assault. The pair are accused of entering John's Jewelry on April 18 and tying up or restraining four employees and a jewelry salesman. Jewelry from the store and from employees was taken along with cash and wallets. One man was armed with a knife and the other had a gun, said police. A female was raped during the robbery.

Both men are being held in the Weber County Jail in lieu of $1 million bond. Prosecutors said the pair are illegal aliens and they may flee the country if released.

Felix has also been questioned by Salt Lake police in connection with a double homicide there.

The slayings happened on May 27 at a west Salt Lake apartment. Jose M. Gomez, 35, and his 19-year-old roommate were both shot to death inside the apartment.

The name of the teenager has not been released because authorities are having problems locating his family.
