- THE CITY ART READING SERIES concludes its season at 8 p.m. Thursday, June 16, at the Mount Tabor Lutheran Church, 175 S. 700 East. The final session will be an open reading. Time for each individual will be based on the number of readers who care to join in. There will also be open space for displaying artwork. For information call 277-1510.- DONALD SMURTHWAITE, author of "The Search for Wallace Whipple," a young adult book, will be at Desert Book in the Orem's University Mall from 12:30-1:30 p.m. on Friday, June 17, and will be at the Fashion Place Mall store in Murray from 12:30-1:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 18.

- ELEANOR KNOWLES will sign copies of her new biography, "Howard W. Hunter," from 1-2:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 18, at the Deseret Book in the University Mall.

- THE WASATCH REVIEW INTERNATIONAL, an LDS literary journal, will sponsor its second annual LDS Writer's Conference on Saturday, June 18. The conference will begin at 9 a.m. at the Redwood Road campus of the Salt Lake Community College. Cost is $15 in advance, $20 at the door.

Featured speakers will be Susan Evans McLoud, Gerald Lund, Leonard Arrington, Eleanor Knowles and Alex Caldiero. Representatives from various LDS publishing houses will also be in attendance.
