Zdenka Kucera, our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully in her home on June 9, 1994, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
She was born on February 25, 1916 in Czechoslovakia, daughter of Josef and Marie Homolka. She married Frank A. Kucera on September 28, 1944 and raised two children. After the "Prague Spring" of 1968, she made her home in Salt Lake City. She continued a career as a librarian in the Family History Library of the LDS Church, eventually becoming an expert on East European Genealogy.She will be missed by her son, Jan; grandchildren, Andrea Thomas, David Hall, John and Kristina Kucera, Salt Lake City; her sister, Marta Borgeat and family of France; and friends. Zdenka was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Kucera and daughter, Marta Hall Kokoshka.
Memorial services will be held at the Garden Park Ward, 1150 East Yale Avenue, on Tuesday, June 14, 12 noon.
