In movies, theater, television, advertising, books and magazines, it has become mandatory to lionize women no matter how improbable the role or situation.
Women are regularly portrayed as being physically impeccable, emotionally powerful, mentally athletic, flawlessly assertive. This sort of profile doesn't describe any woman, or man, I know.Affirmative action, equal opportunity, reasonable historical revisionism, applause for progress - these are one thing. But the shameless, even ludicrous Amazonization of American women we see today is quite another.
In reality, it seems that far too many American women are following American men down the path of greed, ignorance, selfishness, apathy and light-mindedness.
