Merrill Asahel Roundy, 90, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 11, 1994 at the Rocky Mountain Care Center in Bountiful of natural causes.

He was born April 24, 1904 in Fremont, Utah and is a son of Myron S. and Edna J. Roundy, Jr. He married Nellie Gay in Ely, Nevada in 1930. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple in 1951. She passed away on February 7, 1961. He then married Viola Wilcox on September 16, 1961 in the Los Angeles Temple, where they have resided in Lakeview Terrace, California until he moved two years ago up to Bountiful due to his health.He has lived in Provo for over 40 years of his life, he worked for Utah Power & Light Co. He then moved to Santa Barbara, Calif. and lived there for 15 years, with the marriage of Viola he then moved to Lakeview Terrace, Calif. and worked for the Edison Co. as an electrician until his retirement. Merrill loved photography, and the outdoors, with his hunting and gardening. He was an avid reader and loved genealogy. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

He is survived by his wife, Viola; his children, Farrell D. Roundy, of Provo; Lee M. (Margie) Roundy, of Shelton, Washington; Jason N. Roundy of Salt Lake; Marilyn (Lee) Brumett of Clinton; Dawnave (Richard) Funk of Clinton; step-children, Dudley (Ruth) Winstead of Lakeview Terrace, Calif.; and Mary Lee (Robert Vorhies of Northridge, Calif.; a sister, Elsie R. Jones of Bountiful; with numerous grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Nellie; three brothers, and four sisters.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 15, 1994 at 1 p.m. at the Walker Funeral Home Chapel, 85 East 300 So. in Provo. Friends may call that morning at 11:30 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. Interment will take place at the Payson City Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Walker Funeral Home of Provo.
