Michael D. Olsen has been named senior vice president and chief administrative officer at Valtek. He will have global responsibilities for human resources, finance, information systems and corporate support of quality, safety and environmental issues. Roger Barnes has been named vice president of marketing and technology at Valtek. Barnes will be responsible for research and development, marketing, corporate communication, corporate engineering and training. In addition, he will oversee Valtek's Kammer USA subsidiary and South American licensee. Vernon Marks has been appointed vice president of North American operations for Valtek. He will oversee the sales, engineering, manufacturing and service activities associated with Valtek's eight North American plants in Utah, Texas, Louisiana, Pennsylvania and Alberta. Keith Wilson, executive vice president of Dynix, has been named one of the nine winners of the annual Governor's Medal for Science and Technology. The medal is awarded as a symbol of recognition to individuals who have provided distinguished service to the state of Utah in the field of science and technology. Nancy Groll has been named a public relations associate of Network Associates. Groll is responsible for providing product news, success stories, and feature articles to more than 500 high-tech editors throughout the United States. She assists in marketing and public relations services for leading U.S. vendors. Daniel T. LaFontaine has been selected for membership in the American Chiropractic Association, which is dedicated to improving America's health-care system and to increase public awareness of spinal health and chiropractic.
