The "True Story of the Three Little Pigs" (La Verdadera Historia de los Tres Cerditos) will be told in Spanish Monday, June 20, at 6:30 p.m. and again at 7:30 p.m. in the Provo City Library, 425 W. Center.
The puppet show, the first in a series of three, is being produced with funding received by the library for a Spanish Outreach Program . The show is being directed by Rosemarie Howard, local puppeteer.Spanish-speaking families are invited to come enjoy two versions of the classic tale: the first told from the pigs' point of view, and the second from the wolf's. At the end of the show, children attending will be invited to draw their favorite scene from either of the stories. The drawings will be made into a book for the children's section of the library.
Rosemarie Howard has a master's degree in children's theater and has been involved in children's productions in the Springville and Provo areas the past three years.
The other two puppet shows this summer will be on July 18 and Aug. 22 at 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. at the library.
