Harold Charles Gerber, 82, our loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away June 14, 1994 of complications following a stroke.
Harold was born December 20, 1911 to Charles Edward and Charlotte Maria King Gerber. He married Grace Clark and they were later divorced.He married Shirley Giles Johnson February 28, 1946.
Harold has been active all his life in the LDS Church, serving in many callings. He was involved in the printing industry most of his life. He owned Superior Typesetting and later went into partnership with his twin brother, Howard, to create Twin Typographers. They set the trend in Utah for modern typesetting.
Survived by his wife, Shirley; seven children, Alan H. (Barbara); Sharilyn; Kay (Milton) Sanders; Linda Jarvis; Maureen (Stephen) Free; Deborah (Bradford) Hoffman; 24 grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; sister, Margaret (Victor) Checketts. Preceded in death by a daughter, Renee; brother, Robert; and twin brother, Howard.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 18, 1994 at 11:30 a.m. in the Holladay 2nd Ward, 2065 East 4675 South. Friends may call at Memorial Estates Mortuary, 3115 East 7800 South (Bengal Blvd.), Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday before the services from 10:30-11:15 a.m.
