KKAT FEST KICKS OFF SATURDAY

SHARE KKAT FEST KICKS OFF SATURDAY

The annual KKAT radio summer music festival will kick off at 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 25, at the State Fairpark. It will wind down at 8 that evening. And in between will be an impressive array of country performances.

Along with up-and-comers Doug Supernaw, David Ball and James Nicks, the all-day affair will feature Mark Chesnut, The Wiggins, Mark Collie and Neal McCoy. And though the event doesn't single out a headliner, McCoy comes closest. With two number one songs to his credit ("No Doubt About It" and "Wink"), McCoy appears to be - yes - the real McCoy.

Born in Texas, McCoy has some of the George Strait charm, a touch of Billy Ray's energy and a crooner's pipes.

For more information call KKAT Radio at 533-0102. Tickets are available wherever KKAT is doing a remote broadcast, or from Smith'sTix. At $5 in advance, they may be the best buy in town. At the door, they'll be $10, or $8 with a KKAT "loyal listener card."
