Police are on the watch for paint guns being used by young people in the community, following a vandalism incident Tuesday.

Nephi Police Chief Chad Bowles said damage to a vehicle was reported when someone shot the vehicle with a paint dye gun."We knew who did the shooting," said Bowles, adding that a criminal arrest warrant has been issued, he said.

Young people and their parents need to be aware that it is illegal to fire the guns in the city, he said. "They are still treated as a firearm and cannot be discharged inside the city limits."
