Arlo Vernon Stewart, died June 16, 1994, after a valiant fight with melanoma.
He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was born June 24, 1929 to Cyrus Hilman and Mary Elizabeth (Bessie) Hughes Stewart, Mt. Pleasant, Utah.Arlo was proud to be an American and proud of his community. Served Korean War. Served Rose Park Community Council and the Mosquito Abatement District.
He married his bride of 40 years, Jane Asay, May 3, 1954 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They had four children, Joni, Michael, Robert (Kathy), and Pattie. They also enjoyed their five grandchildren, Zach, Dustyn, Toney, Chanel, and Jordan.
A retired letter carrier and successful businessman. Graduated North Sanpete High School.
He is survived by his wife; four children; five grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Verda Seely, Mt. Pleasant; Floyd Stewart, Salt Lake City; Oran Stewart, Salt Lake City; Morris Stewart, ElCajon, Calif.; LaReta Christenson, Layton; Betty Jean Walker, Arizona; Anona Allred, Salt Lake City; Karma Lu Aikens, Ogden. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Arlis and Fred and sister, Velma.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 20, 1994 at 11 a.m. in the Rose Park North Stake Center, 1155 North 1200 West. Friends may call Sunday 6-8 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 255 South 200 East and Monday 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the church.
Intement: Utah Veterans Memorial Park.
