Our beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and loving friend Mildred Owen Sloan, died peacefully at home on June 16, 1994 at age 87 after a brief illness.

Born January 9, 1907 in Salt Lake City, Utah. The youngest child of Margaret Kendall and Daniel Whitney Owen. Married Eugene Wallace Sloan on July 2, 1932 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He preceded her in death on February 11, 1988.She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother whose life was dedicated to her family. She will be remembered for her thoughtfulness and service to others. An active member of the LDS Church, she served in numerous organizations. She loved her calling in the Salt Lake Temple. She served as President of the Salt Lake Mothers' Club, active in PTA and a volunteer at LDS Hospital.

Survived by her children: a son, Eugene O. Sloan (Linda), Salt Lake City; three daughters, Sylvia S. Bailey (Ralph); Suzanne S. Grainger (Lyle) Bountiful, Utah; and Linda S. Brown (Rodger) Camarillo, California; 22 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister Margaret Owen Price, Fountain Valley, California.

Preceded in death by four brothers, Raymond, Kendall, Louis, Gordon; and a great-grandchild, Justin Bailey.

Funeral services Tuesday, June 21, at 12 Noon, at Ensign First Ward, 9th Avenue and "D" Street, Salt Lake City. Friends may call at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, on Monday, 6-8 p.m., and Tuesday at the Ward, 10:30-11:45 am. Burial will be in the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
