SHARE TRUCK CARBURETOR BLAST PUTS S. JORDAN MAN IN HOSPITAL

A truck carburetor explosion hospitalized a South Jordan man Saturday, a South Jordan police spokesman said.

About 4:45 p.m., the 55-year-old man, name unavailable, and another man in his 70s were priming the carburetor of a pickup truck when it exploded, said officer Glenn Smith. The younger man suffered second-degree burns on 40 percent of his body and was airlifted to the University Hospital Burn Unit in serious condition.Smith said most of the man's right side was burned. The older man was treated and released at the scene.
