SHARE BYU’S YOUNG MUSICIANS SUMMERFEST OFFERS FREE PERFORMANCES JUNE 20-25

Brigham Young University's Young Musicians Sum-mer-fest, a week of free public performances including band, choir, jazz and orchestra concerts, will take place Monday, June 20 through Saturday, June 25 in the Harris Fine Arts Center.

Performances in the weeklong conference for high school musicians begin Monday with a silent movie, Charlie Chaplin's "City Lights," to be screened with live organ accompaniment at 7 p.m. in the de Jong Concert Hall.In addition concerts will be presented at 7 p.m. Tuesday, featuring Orpheus Winds, Brassworks and other BYU faculty members; 7 p.m. Wednesday, featuring the Summerfest jazz faculty; 7 p.m. Thursday, with solo performances by Summerfest students; and 7 p.m. Friday, the annual Summerfest Student Jazz Concert.

Finally, on Saturday, a band concert will begin at 1 p.m., a choir concert at 2:15 p.m. and an orchestra concert at 3:30 p.m.
