- A WOMAN'S PLACE BOOK STORE has slated several events. At 7:30 p.m. on Monday, June 20, Christine Northrup will be at the Foothill Village store. At 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 21, Sally S. Burgin will be at the store in the Hidden Valley Shopping Center. At 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 22, Jane Hamilton will read and sign books in Foothill Village. Barbara Nelson will be at the Park City store at 6 p.m. that evening. Call 583-6431 for information.
- ADRIAN GOSTICK, author of "Eddy and the Habs," and LAEL LITTKE, author of "The Bee Theres" series, will sign copies of their books from noon to 1 p.m. on Friday, June 24 at the Deseret Book in the ZCMI Center.
- THE NATIONAL LEAGUE OF AMERICAN PEN WOMEN has announced the winners of its annual competition.
Alice Morrey Bailey and Thaya Gilmore won in the two art categories.
In writing, winners included Bailey (short story and serious poetry), Val C. Wilcox (light verse), Maxine Jennings (serious poetry and the Bailey competition), Vera Ogden Bakker (juvenile story), JoAnne P. Smith (article), Ella B. Ortiz (article), Wanda Rhodes (vignette), Geraldine T. Fielding (historical article and Wilma Bunker award).
