SHARE PAYSON TEACHER WINS EBLE AWARD

A Payson Junior High School teacher has won the annual Eble Award.

Lu Ann Brobst, author of "Local Resources: Utah Authors in the Classroom," was selected by the editors of the Utah English Journal for the award, given to a K-12 teacher who has written the outstanding article for 1994. The award is named for Eugene Eble, a former English professor at the University of Utah and a longtime advocate for English education in Utah.Brobst is the English department chairwoman at Payson Junior High School and teaches English and creative writing. She serves as the president-elect and contest chairman for the League of Utah Writers and is past president of the Utah Valley chapter. She has been an asociate producer with Alan Osmond's Stadium of Fire for America's Freedom Festival at Provo and is working this year as an assistant director and script writer for the event. She has published in a variety of places, including an international newsletter for the past eight years.
