Lois Hill Burton, age 75, died at her home in Spanish Fork on Wednesday, June 1, 1994.

She was born on January 7, 1919 in Mapleton, Utah to Leonard A. and Jennie Bird Hill. She graduated from Payson High School. She worked as a telephone operator in Payson and San Francisco during World War II. After an airmail romance in war time, she married Paul Garr Burton on July 10, 1945 in the Manti LDS Temple.Lois has been a full time mother and homemaker, always encouraging her family to do their best and to set high goals. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in all auxiliaries, starting as a senior in high school teaching Primary. She has also served as Primary president, Relief Society president and many other various callings. Even in her 60's she was faithfully serving as Laurel Teacher. She served an LDS mission, with her husband, to the Mesa Arizona visitor center from April 1985 to April 1986.

She is survived by her husband of Spanish Fork; three sons and four daughters and their spouses, Neal and Lynda Burton, Heber City; Kent and Ann Burton, Salem; Janice and Leonard Foster, Beaver; Jane and Ken Aird, Bountiful; Joan and Alan Stott, Lancaster, California; Gayle and Scott Bleak, Houston, Texas; Philip and Kathryn Burton, Spanish Fork; 35 grandchildren; two sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Allen (Margaret) Francis, Spanish Fork; Mrs. LaMar (Ruth) Weight, Springville; LeRoy Hill, Payson; and Merrill Hill, Hot Springs, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by three sisters.

Funeral services Saturday, June 4, 1994 at 1 p.m. in the Spanish Fork LDS 5th Ward Chapel, 1006 East 200 South, Spanish Fork. Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary, 187 South Main St., Spanish Fork on Friday evening 6-8 p.m. or Saturday at the ward Relief Society room one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Spanish Fork City Cemetery.
