Norwegian soccer fams beat the heat wave by wading in a fountain near the Lincoln Memorial in Washington Sunday. The group came to the United States for the World Cup soccer matches and encountered record-breaking high temperatures for the day at 99 degrees. Record heat gripped much of the Ohio Valley and Northeast, and thunderstorms spread from the Plains to the Gulf Coast.
