Our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Nyal J. Smith, 65, of Lindon died June 18, 1994 in the American Fork Hospital due to a pulmonary embolism.

He was born November 29, 1928, a son of Rudger Daniel and Della Mae Richins Smith in Lindon, Utah. He married Chloe Giles June 18, 1948 in Heber City, Utah.Nyal was a heavy equipment operator and truck driver. He was a Scout leader. Nyal was the first policeman in Lindon City, he was the Water and Street Superintendent for Lindon City until about 1968. President of the Lindon Pumping Company; served on the Lindon City Council.

Survivors include his wife of Lindon; one daughter and two sons, Nila Mae and Kenneth Wootton of American Fork, Curtis and Geri Smith of Pleasant Grove, James and Sheryl Smith of West Jordan; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; two sisters, LaNeve McCandless of Lindon, Janice (Rex) Berry of Tooele.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, R. Dee Smith; and a grandson, Niel Kenneth Wootton. He loved his children and grandchildren and was loved by all.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 22, 1994 at 11 a.m. in the Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove. Friends may call Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. and also Wednesday one hour prior to services at the mortuary. Burial, Lindon City Cemetery.
