Women swoon for Garth Brooks, but his statue at the Iowa State Fair could really make hearts throb.
A life-size sculpture of the country music star made with 250 pounds of butter is planned as a centerpiece at the fair, which begins August 11 in Toledo.Norma Lyons has sculpted cows from butter for the past 35 fairs. She plans another cow this year in addition to the Brooks statue, which she'll craft from butter smeared on wire mesh.
"He's got a pretty face, a baby face," she said. "There's a cleft right under his lip here. And his ears, I guess you'd say he has handsome ears."
Brooks will be flattered, said his publicist, Scott Stem.
"It's kind of amazing. I'm flabbergasted." said Stem. "That's really cool."
