Four staff members with a combined 54 years of service at Weber State University have received awards for outstanding performance.
The "Presidential Outstanding Professional Staff Award" was presented to Judy Hurst, director of student activities, and Fred Endo, assistant director of accounting services.Hurst joined Weber State in 1984 as a student-activities adviser and became coordinator of student programs in 1987. Endo joined Weber State in 1969 as an accountant and became assistant director in his department in 1990.
The "Presidential Outstanding Classified Staff Award" went to Laurell Martinez, secretary to the dean of the College of Arts and Humanities, and Lynn Kraaima, maintenance-repair supervisor.
Martinez joined WSU in 1987 as secretary for the drug and alcohol program. She also worked in the Multicultural Resource Center and with a campus cooperative education program.
Kraiima joined the university in 1982 as a custodian and became a supervisor in 1991.
The awards recognize staff members for their expertise, productivity and creativity.
Each winner gets $1,000, a plaque and a one-year reserved campus parking space.
