An herb farm is being proposed for land north of the boys' home at the north of Mona if the issue of access can be resolved.

Alan Josselyn, who is proposing the enterprise, attended a County Commission meeting to find out if the road leading to the property is part of the county B road system.Sherm Peterson, county road supervisor, and Randy Freston, county engineer and administrator, will go to the property and examine the road and property to make a determination.

Commissioner Gordon Young said it appeared the road was on the county D road system. That means, he said, it is a public road but is not maintained.

Josselyn said that in order to build on the property, it must be accessed by a county road. Otherwise the property would be landlocked.

He said the property was 643 acres. "I am in the process of obtaining water rights," said Josselyn.

Josselyn said he was looking at making a herb farm on the property but was considering other options.
