The Utah Highway Patrol has identified and released the names of the two men killed in Monday's early morning crash in Parleys Canyon.

The driver, Margarito Gonzales, 21 and a passenger, Raul Reyes Hernandez, 24, both of Salt Lake City, were crushed when a westbound semitrailer truck rear-ended their car at 12:14 a.m.The rig hit the car while it was stopped in the right traveling lane for a flat tire. The truck driver said he tried to stop but pushed the car 800 feet down I-80. The car apparently did not have its lights on, said UHP trooper Steve Winward.

A third passenger, Juan Hernandez, 23, was pinned in the car for almost two hours and remains in critical condition at the University Hospital.

The fourth male passenger jumped out and escaped with minor injuries.
