Wayne Binns, 82, died Weds, June 22, 1994 in Logan, of causes incident to age.

He was born July 20, 1911 in American Fork, a son of John and Ellen Thornton Binns. He married Lucille Sparrow, May 15, 1940 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.Dr. Binns was reared and educated in American Fork and graduated from American Fork High School. He was a Utah State University graduate with a degree in Pre-Vet Science. He received his Dr. of Veterinary Science from Iowa State University. He practiced in St. Anthony, Idaho, until coming to Logan as head of Veterinary Science at Utah State. He became a research veterinarian for the USDA until his retirement in 1973. He was a volunteer for the Red Cross, Hospice and in the kindergarten classroom. He was active in NARF and was continuously involved in professional associations.

He served in the army as a captain during World War II. He was an active member of the Logan 9th LDS Ward, serving in the past as a temple worker for 11 years, branch president of the Williamsburg Branch, served an LDS mission with his wife to New York and has held many other ward and stake callings.

Survivors include his wife, of Logan; one son and one daughter and their spouses, Ralph and Jane Binns, Logan; Anne and Jay Taylor, Roseville, California; six grandchildren, Gregory, Douglas Bradley, Michael Taylor, Susan and Sydnee Binns; one brother, Niles Binns, Ogden, Utah. He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, June 25, 1994 at 12 noon in the Logan Ninth LDS Ward Chapel, 5th North 1st East. Friends may call at the Nelson Funeral Home, 162 East 4th North, Logan, Friday from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday at the Ninth Ward Chapel from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. Interment will be in the Logan Cemtery.
