I read in your paper that former county commissioners are backing "I'll do whatever I'm told" to run as a Republican against Randy Horiuchi for a seat on the Salt Lake County Commission and not the principled, talented and articulate Pearl Meibos. Perhaps they hope to infuse their candidate with the imagined powers of their Good Old Boy network.
Republican voters should not be deceived; a vote for any commission candidate other than Pearl Meibos assures a Democrat victory next November.Despite his backing by the AFL-CIO, Randy Horiuchi is no friend of labor, nor is he a friend of the Asian community in Salt Lake Valley; certainly he is no friend of the ordinary working family. The Democrat candidate does not like negative campaigns. Negative campaigns are the price negative officials pay for their negative programs. Randy Horiuchi scraps out neighborhoods. He takes away public space and makes it private, and in making it private, he and his buddies make profits that impoverish the rest of us.
