Two men want to build a $30 million historical complex to preserve the site of the Civil War's first land battle.

Olive Crow and Tom Dadisman want to preserve the lifestyle of the era and make the attraction in this West Virginia town a center for regional tourism.Crow, a resident of Elkins, and Dadisman, a playwright from Nashville, Tenn., want to buy up to 900 acres in Barbour and Taylor counties for the complex.

"We want to utilize railroad history and Civil War history," Crow said.
