Gordon E. Crandall, age 87, passed away peacefully June 22, 1994, in Bountiful, Utah.

Gordon was born July 18, 1906, in Springville, Utah, to Myron E., Jr. and Evelyn Maeser Crandall. He married Elene M. Clegg on August 22, 1928 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple; she preceded him in death July 9, 1985. He married Josephine Richards Cronk Jameson on June 23, 1986 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.Gordon retired as the Treasurer of the Uniroyal Tire Co. (New York) following 34 years employment.

As an active member of the LDS Church, Gordon served in many positions throughout his life, including bishop of the Matthews Ward, Los Angeles, Calif., and the Queens Ward in Long Island, New York; stake president of Long Island (New York) Stake; mission president, California Central Mission 1971-74; and patriarch of the East Millcreek North Stake. He was also active in the Sons of the Utah Pioneers.

Gordon was an honest friend, respected neighbor, loving father and family man who will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.

Survived by his wife, Josephine, Salt Lake City; two daughters, Virginia C. Taylor, and Mrs. Robert (Mary) Hales, both Salt Lake City; two sons, Dennis (and Linda) Crandall, Bountiful; N. Jay (and Elizabeth) Crandall, Idaho Falls; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Harold (Gail Crandall) Zesiger, Bountiful; three stepchildren, Donald R. (and Kaye) Cronk and Mrs. Richard (Jacquelyn) Strader, both Mesa, Ariz.; Nicholas R. (and Karalyn) Cronk, of Springville; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Lowell W. (and Beth) Crandall, Bountiful; and a sister, Anna Warner, Salt Lake City. Preceded in death by a son, Lt. Gordon Clegg Crandall, USAF; four brothers, Maeser, Karl, Carlisle and Sterling Crandall.

Funeral services will be Monday, June 27th, 12 noon, at the East Millcreek Seventh Ward 3100 East Evergreen Ave. (3400 South). Friends may call Sunday, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Holbrook Funeral Chapel, 3251 South 2300 East, and at the church Monday one hour prior to the service. Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
